Bonnie S. Nachamie concentrates on representing mortgage lenders, mortgage brokers, federal and state depository institutions and federal credit unions in mortgage lending compliance and transactional matters. She regularly assists mortgage companies in obtaining licenses, evaluates and assists in responding to regulatory examination findings and represents clients before administrative agencies in enforcement actions.
Bonnie S. Nachamie counsels clients on relevant state and federal laws and regulations affecting mortgage lending. In addition to regulatory and compliance counsel, the Firm acts as settlement agent for lenders at closing. Bonnie S. Nachamie brings knowledge and professionalism to the real estate closing and provides full service to its lender clients. The Firm is not only approved to conduct closings for many lenders but is also approved CEMA (Consolidation, Extension and Modification) counsel as well.
Ms. Nachamie is a frequent speaker on mortgage banking issues including licensing and regulatory matters. Bonnie has been an instructor at the American Association of Residential Mortgage Regulators (AARMR) examiner training schools. She has taught the Mortgage Loan Originator licensing courses and was one of the founding members of the Academy for Professional Mortgage Originator Licensing (APMOL), an NMLS approved course provider for pre-licensing and continuing education of mortgage loan originators. She lectured on topics such as Predatory Lending Issues and Fraudulent Practices involving Real Estate transactions and TILA-RESPA Integrated Disclosure Rule (TRID) for approved New York Continuing Legal Education programs.
Bonnie is the CEO of First National Compliance Solutions, Inc., a full service mortgage compliance company providing guidance to the financial services industry in effectively dealing with the rapidly evolving regulatory environment.
Ms. Nachamie is a member of the National Association of Mortgage Brokers, New York Association of Mortgage Brokers, Empire State Mortgage Bankers Association, Mortgage Bankers Association of New York, and Mortgage Bankers Association of America. She has served as a member of the Board of Directors for the New York Association of Mortgage Brokers and has served as its Secretary, Treasurer and Education Chairperson. Bonnie is a board member of the MBAofNY, ESMBA and NYAMB. She serves on the Northeast Regional Mortgage Bankers Conference Planning Committee.
Bonnie received her B.A. from The Pennsylvania State University in 1981 and her J.D. from Touro College School of Law in 1984. She is admitted to practice in New York State and the United States District Court for the Eastern and Southern Districts of New York as well as the United States Supreme Court and the United States Court of Military Appeals.
